A stunning, dimensional mid-century brooch meticulously crafted in West Germany during the 1950s golden era of costume jewelry. Shaped like an intricate floral wreath, this piece features multi-layered, lace-like brass filigree panels that create a beautiful, deep three-dimensional effect.

The brooch is handset with six brilliant, faceted citrine-amber glass rhinestones. Each stone is secured by prominent, high-quality crown/dog-tooth prongs—a hallmark of fine post-war European craftsmanship.

The brass metalwork has taken on a lovely, soft golden patina over the decades.

Hardware & Authenticity Indicators

  • Maker's Stamp: Crisp and clearly stamped "MADE IN GERMANY WEST" on the foundational back ring.
  • Clasp: Features a secure, period-correct rolling safety catch latch mechanism that holds the pin stem tightly in place.
  • Construction: Built with a sturdy circular brass ring soldered to the back to reinforce and stabilize the delicate, stamped filigree layers. Bonus: the back ring leaves enough space to thread a thin chain through so you may also wear as a pendant.

Condition

Excellent Vintage Condition.

All six large amber stones are completely original, sparkling, and firmly prong-set. The brass filigree is structurally perfect with no bends, breaks, or green verdigris corrosion. The pin stem is straight, and the safety clasp functions flawlessly.

"Note: I am also listing a beautifully coordinating 1920s-1930s Art Deco Czech filigree necklace and earring set that pairs flawlessly with this brooch. Please check my other listings if you are looking to build a parure.
