The Ultimate Collector's Holy Grail: An exceptionally rare, authentic 1940s Miriam Haskell unsigned demi-parure designed during the legendary Frank Hess design era.

This set is detailed in the book Miriam Haskell Jewelry by Cathy Gordon & Sheila Pamfiloff (Schiffer Revised 2nd Edition) page 161.

A museum-quality set that transcends standard vintage jewelry; it features its original, structurally attached string hang tag from luxury retailer Frederick & Nelson (Seattle) Stamped "NOT FOR SALE" with handwritten inventory codes on the reverse, the tag design was used by the store in the 1930’s-40’s. This set was an elite manufacturer's display sample or traveling trunk show model, preserving its breathtaking condition for nearly a century.

Design & Craftsmanship

  • The Stones: Multi-strand draped lariat necklace and matching dress clip featuring premium, variegated pink-and-white swirled Czech art glass beads made to perfectly simulate precious
    "angel skin" coral.
  • The Florals: Three-dimensional floral clusters constructed from layered, frosted, translucent pink molded glass petals.
  • The Construction: Hand-wired perfection. True to the Haskell atelier's strict standards, every bead and glass petal is meticulously secured by hand using copper-alloy wires woven through a perforated base plate.
  • The Findings: The reverse features the iconic, geometric stamped brass "arrowhead" (fish skeleton) mechanical clips, highly favored by Hess for their secure grip on mid-century textiles.
    • The clips are layered over original custom-cut clear celluloid/plastacele discs to protect the hand-wired chassis.

    Condition & Dimensions

    • Condition: Excellent vintage archival condition. Minor, beautiful age-appropriate patina to the hand-twisted base metal wires. Minor metal discoloration on interior of arrowhead clips. Not noticeable when worn. See photos. Glass is crisp with no notable chips or fractures. Original paper string tag remains securely attached to the bead strands.
    • Measurements: Lariat Length, 23.5 inches, Dress Clip Dimensions , 2x2 inches.
    • Provenance: Fully documented via internal Frederick & Nelson archive/style codes N 800-27 and 140.

This is a stunning, museum-quality example of American costume jewelry history. Having the original archive display tag still attached makes it a truly rare collector's centerpiece.
